ABOUT US
Located at 326 N Vermilion St in downtown Danville, Illinois, The Verander is a historic landmark reborn for modern living. The name “Verander,” derived from the Dutch word meaning “to change” or “to alter,” reflects the building’s remarkable transformation.
Originally constructed in two phases — in 1906 and 1927 — this five-story elevator building was once known as ‘New Holland’ and ‘The Holland’. Today, it stands revitalized as 44 beautifully designed studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences, blending timeless architecture with contemporary comfort.
Fully renovated from top to bottom, The Verander offers thoughtfully restored details, modern finishes, and inviting new common areas designed for connection and community — honoring its past while embracing the future of downtown Danville living.

FAQ's
No, not unless you have a Section 8 voucher, or other source of rental assistance. Bedrock Property Management manages several developments where rent is based on the household’s income. Our leasing teams will have information on the specific property you are applying for.
Income-restricted apartments are not voucher-based. Rent is capped according to household income and size, as established by HUD for the development’s county. Residents apply directly through our leasing team—no third-party voucher is required.
No, but we do accept them! If you are under the maximum income limit and can afford the rent, there is no need for a voucher.
Not at all. Every resident enjoys the same apartment finishes, layouts, and community amenities, regardless of income qualification.
Applicants must provide proof of income, such as recent pay stubs or award letters, along with documentation verifying household size. We will also need birth certificates and a government issued ID for all adults. Our leasing team will guide you through each step and provide a full checklist during the application process.
Many of the properties we manage participate in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, which helps create high-quality, affordable housing. Through this program, rent amounts are limited based on income guidelines, allowing residents to enjoy modern apartments at reduced rates.
The LIHTC program makes it possible to live in modern, newly built communities where the rents are capped. It ensures fair access to comfortable, energy-efficient housing designed with long-term value in mind.
Visit the page for the property you are interested in to complete a pre-application or contact the office directly.
Qualification is based on your household’s annual gross income and the number of occupants. To qualify, your household’s total income must fall within the income limits established by HUD. Our leasing and compliance teams will confirm eligibility during your application process.
All sources of income are considered, including wages, child support, social security, pensions, and other recurring earnings. We are required by HUD to use gross income (before taxes or other deductions) when calculating income. Our team will provide a full list of what counts as income during the verification process.
If you are over the maximum income limit, set by HUD, you would not be eligible to lease an income-restricted unit.
